Pain Prevention Program™
Ernie Quinlisk developed a new service to identify or detect problems before they happen. It is called the Pain Prevention Program™.As you know, physical therapists assess mechanical problems that are causing pain in your muscles, joints and nerves. Once we identify the source of these problems, we can utilize a number of highly effective techniques to quickly alleviate pain and improve function.
However, we want to help you be proactive as opposed to reactive. The goal of the Pain Prevention Program™ is to find problems and fix them before you experience pain. It is similar to getting your annual physical with your primary care doctor, but in no way replaces seeing your doctor.
You are probably well aware of the fact that one area of your body can easily affect another and that compensatory patterns (moving away from pain) are common in all of us, whether we have been injured or not. Your body's natural compensatory inclination is to move away from pain. However, over time these compensatory patterns will be exposed, resulting in pain and dysfunction. Pain from a compensatory problem can be quite frustrating because the patient cannot determine a cause. It is the old "straw that broke the camels back" theory.
In one hour, the Pain Prevention Program™ will assess your muscles, joints and nerves, so we can determine any potential compensatory pain patterns that have been undetected or unnoticed. This is helpful whether or not you are currently experiencing pain.
The Pain Prevention Program™ will provide the following:
- Assessment of strength of all major joints of the body
- Assessment of range of motion (flexibility) of all major joints of the body
- Check orthopedic surgical sites (if applicable)
- Gait pattern (walking)
- Reflex muscle spasms (trigger points)
- Ergonomics (home and work)
- Posture
- Current exercise program (we can formulate a program in conjunction with your PCP)
- A free six month follow up if needed
- Accountability program
Here is what you will receive:
- A comprehensive one hour assessment with a licensed physical therapist
- Postural evaluation in the highlighted area
- A computer print out of our findings, which will also be sent to you and your doctor.
- A referral to a medical professional if needed.
- A free six month follow up if needed.
- The opportunity to be involved in an email accountability program with your physical therapist.
Pain Prevention Program™ appointments are scheduled for one hour and we recommend this assessment be performed on an annual basis. The cost is only $101. In some cases we will want to follow up in six months. There will be no additional cost for this 15-minute follow up.
We want to be clear that this assessment in no way replaces your annual physical with your primary care physician. The Pain Prevention Program™ is a tool to help detect and fix problems, so you can live a healthy life, free of pain.

"The treatment was so subtle and gentle. All I can say is that after trying chiropractic and massage therapy, you were the only one to diagnose the problem and then eradicate the pain I had been suffering with for quire some time..." (read more)
